What We Do

Every veteran has their personal story to tell about their time in the military. We realize that these stories sometimes portray a difficult time for those who have served. Paddle 4 Troops mission is to provide assistance for military – active, retired, or prior – and their families during their time of need. We don’t put limits on the requests, but rather look at each individual and the personal struggles they are facing when determining how to best support them. 

Paddle 4 Troops Board Members consider all requests that are submitted. We have fulfilled requests for physical and mental health treatment, support/service dogs, construction costs for rebuilding homes after hurricane destruction, and modifying homes for disabled veterans. Assisting with debt for those in need, providing grocery gift cards, providing vehicle repairs, and paying outstanding medical expenses are some of the common requests from those in need. We have even been able to assist a veteran with some start-up expenses after retiring from the military and creating a business plan for his future. A common, but difficult request is to assist with funeral and reception expenses incurred by our military killed in action. 

As described above, many requests are urgent. A main operating tenet of P4T is to respond and deliver quickly. We typically are able to respond to urgent requests in less than 48 hours. Many of the services offered by other organizations, including the VA, can take weeks or months to deliver.
